NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has signed an agreement with Venus Safety and Health Private Limited. The agreement has been signed to set up a Venus chair at the institute to promote excellence and leadership in teaching, research and development in the area of fibrous air filters, a statement from the institute said. Venus Safety and Health Private Limited is based in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The institute in the statement said fibrous air filters are used to remove air-borne particles and products made from them, including particulate filtering masks, respirators, air purifiers HVAC filters, HEPA filters, ULPA filters, engine intake air filters, steam air filters and bag filters.
It further added that Venus Safety and Health Private Limited is a global manufacturer of personal protective equipment. Managing director of the company is Mahesh Kudav, who will help IIT Delhi in exercising robust research and development in the direction of fibrous air filters.

While signing the agreement, managing director of the company said: "Fibrous air filters are one of the key business segments of Venus Safety and Health private limited. Through the ingenious use of research and technology, the company has delivered premier air filter products.”
“By establishing the Venus chair at IIT Delhi, the company wishes to support teaching, research and development activities and facilitate a deeper collaboration in the area of fibrous air filters,” he added.
