School of physical sciences, IIT Goa, has called for applications for online research internship under Accelerating Vigyaan Scheme, SERB.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Goa has invited applications for an online research internship at the School of Physical Sciences under the Accelerating Vigyaan Scheme, Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
While the last date to apply for the internship is September 29 at 6pm, the duration of the internship is three weeks.

According to an official notification by IIT Goa, the selected candidates will work on a project called probing the QCD matter produced at RHIC and LHC.
The eligibility criteria of the internship is that the candidate should have a minimum of 60% in BSc Physics and should be currently pursuing MSc Physics. Students will have to produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Supervisor or head of the Department or head of the Institute, indicating their association with the institute, hence allowing their student to undergo internship, if selected.

The objective of the internship is “to groom students, primarily from universities, colleges, private academic institutions and newly established Institutes, in their scientific career pursuits by developing dedicated research skills through research internships in the field of high energy nuclear physics.”
Currently, IIT Goa offers three courses, namely BTech, MTech and PhD in several core and one non-core specialisations. Six schools of IIT Goa offer these courses: School of Chemical and Material Sciences; School of Electrical Sciences; School of Humanities and Social Sciences; School of Mathematics and Computer Science; School of Mechanical Sciences and School of Physical Sciences.
