IIT Guwahati Placements: Highest domestic package of Rs 1.2 crore, 530 offers made by day two

IIT Guwahati Placements 2021: The highest domestic package this year has been 1.2 crore while the highest international offer is 2.05 crore.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has received as many as 530 offers by the end of day two of placement season 2021. The institute saw a huge rise in terms of the number of offers made, profiles open, companies’ participation, domestic and international packages, and even in terms of a total number of international offers.

“This year, IIT Guwahati has received the highest number of international offers ever, highest international package ever, highest domestic packages ever, and highest PPOs ever,” said an official statement from the institute.
The total number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) this year is 179 while it was 133 last year which is a 34.5% increase. 530 offers were made till the end of the second day of the placement which is 50.14% higher than 2020 when it was 353, as per the statement.

Overall, 28 international offers have been made so far while there were a total of 4 offers in the last year. The highest domestic package received by students this year has been 1.2 crore which is 70% higher than the 70 lakhs of 2020, the IITG statement added.
Further, the highest international offer is secured by the postgraduate students of IIT Guwahati. The highest international offer this year is 2.05 crore much higher than 36 lakhs in 2020, the statement added.

This year, IIT Guwahati is conducting the entire placement process in complete virtual mode. Last year, only the coordinating committee members were physically present on the campus while the volunteers were connected virtually, the institute said.
This year, the entire coordinating committee and a majority of the volunteers are present on the campus to coordinate the whole placement process. The students (either on-campus or off-campus) are participating in the campus placement in virtual mode, according to the institute.

The first day of placements saw students getting more than 200 offers. About 38 companies participated in the IIT Guwahati recruitment drive phase 1, which is expected to continue till December 15.
