IIT JAM 2024 registration ends tomorrow at jam.iitm.ac.in; exam pattern, important dates

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) will close the registration window of Joint Admission test for Madras (IIT JAM 2024) for admission to postgraduate programmes in the 21 IITs. Candidates can apply for the entrance examination on the official website, jam.iitm.ac.in.

Candidates clearing the IIT JAM 2024 exam will be eligible for admission to around 3,000 seats of masters programmes in IITs subject to satisfying the eligibility requirements and minimum educational qualifications.

The IIT Madras has advised applicants to contact the concerned admitting institute for further details.

The JAM 2023 is a computer-based test in seven test papers. The papers will have multiple choice questions (MCQ), multiple select questions (MSQ) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. Candidates can appear in one or two test papers. For two test papers, the second paper must be carefully selected to avoid session clash, IIT Madras said.

JAM 2024: Eligibility criteria

• Candidates should have secured a bachelor’s degree.
• Marks must be calculated by taking all the subjects into account, including the languages and subsidiaries of all the years combined.
• Candidates of general and OBC (non-creamy layer) should have secured a minimum 55% aggregate or 5.5 out of 10 CGPA or CPI in aggregate without rounding off.
• The candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD category should have scored at least 50% or 5.0 out of 10 in their graduation.

The admit card for JAM 2024 will be uploaded on the official website, jam.iitm.ac.in, on January 8, 2024. The exam will be held on February 11, 2024, while the result will be out on March 22, 2024.

• On the homepage, click on the ‘Register’ button
• Fill in your details and register to proceed
• Login and fill out the form
• Upload documents and pay the application fee
• Download and take a printout of the same for further references.
