IIT Jammu invites applications for PhD programmes; eligibility criteria, steps to apply

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has invited online applications for PhD programmes. Interested candidates can apply on the official website – iitjammu.ac.in. IIT Jammu is offering PhD programmes in Biosciences and BioEngineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering,, Materials Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates need to fulfill one of the following requirements for full-time PhD programme:
• A Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or a Master’s degree by Research in
• Engineering ot Technology with a good academic record.
• Master’s degree in Science (with a good academic record) and a valid GATE score or DST-INSPIRE or CSIR-JRF or GPAT or NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area tenable for the year of registration.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with an exceptional
• academic record and a valid GATE score in the eligible discipline.
• Exemption under schemes as agreed by the IIT Council for students of NITs, IITs, IIITs, IISERs, IISc may be acceptable.

The last date to apply for PhD programmes at IIT Jammu is May 26. The application fee for general, gen-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates is Rs 300 whereas SC, ST, PwD candidates need to submit an application fee of Rs 200 per department. Candidates will be called for a written test or interview as a part of the selection process.

• Click on the link ‘PhD admissions 2022’ available on the right side of the home page
• Candidates will be redirected to another page. Now scroll down and click on apply online button
• Another page will appear. Login or make new registration by filling in required details
• Login with your ID and password and fill the application form
• Upload the necessary documents and submit
• Download the application form for future reference
