IIT Jodhpur, Futurense Uni announce degree programmes in applied AI, data science

The online degree programmes are designed for both students and working professionals with chances of visiting the IIT Jodhpur campus.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur has introduced a certificate course, a diploma and two degree programmes in applied AI and data science in partnership with Futurense Uni. The degree programmes are designed for both students and working professionals and are in an online format, but also offers its students the chance to join offline classes at the IIT Jodhpur campus.

Students can obtain a certification in the first year, a diploma in the second, a BSc degree in the third, and a BS degree at the end of the fourth year as per the programme structure, the official notice said.

Interested students can apply for the programme on the Futurense Uni official website. The application process for the programme includes a qualifying test, submission of a complete application form, and receipt of offer letter from IIT Jodhpur.

AI, data science courses at IIT Jodhpur

The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation about AI to its students. The programme incorporates over 100 advanced AI tools and provides hands-on experience with Devin AI, Claude, etc.

The participants will engage in video lectures, quizzes, and assignments, complemented by live weekend lectures from faculty and industry leaders. The assessments and projects will be an integral part to enhance practical skills and knowledge of the students.

Raghav Gupta, the founder and CEO of Futurense highlighted the skill gap between industry and academia. He added: “The pace of AI-driven transformation is reshaping industries, with estimates suggesting that 80% of jobs will experience significant changes due to AI.”

Avinash Kumar Agarwal, professor and director of IIT Jodhpur emphasised the need for a next-gen education model that addresses global challenges. He added: “Our present age requires creative solutions to pressing problems of human rights, sustainable development and global well-being”.
