IIT Kanpur achieves 1,000 enrollments in eMasters degree programme, announces 10 new courses

Working professionals applying for the IIT Kanpur’s eMasters degree programme don’t have to appear for the GATE.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kanpur) said it has achieved 1,000 enrollments in the eMasters degree programme that was launched in January 2022. The IIT Kanpur added that over 220 professionals have graduated with eMasters degrees till now and have successfully scaled their careers in the new-age domains.

The institute has also announced new cohorts of eMasters degree in 10 fields including, data science and business analytics, next generation wireless technologies, cyber security, AI and ML, financial technology and management, business finance, public policy, climate finance and sustainability, quantitative finance and risk management, and sustainable construction practices and project management.

The eMasters degree programme is being offered to working professionals. Admission to these programmes do not require a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Candidates can pursue the courses without interrupting their careers.

eMasters degree structure

These programs are offered in a mix of weekend-only live interactive classes and self-paced learning modules. The 12-module industry-aligned curriculum, which is worth 60-credit, is taught by faculty and researchers from IIT Kanpur. Candidates selected for the programme also gain access to the IIT Kanpur incubation cell and alumni network. Under the immersive learning experience, participants also have the opportunity to visit the IIT Kanpur campus to meet the faculty and network with experienced professionals.

Students clearing the degree programme also gain the IIT Kanpur alumni status. The eMasters also offer flexibility in time for completion, ranging from 1 to 3 years.

A total of 30% students pursuing the eMasters degree programme have less than 5 years of experience, 24% have been working for 5 to 10 years while 46% have 10 years of expertise. Interested candidates can visit the emasters.iitk.ac.in for more information on the programme.
