IIT Kharagpur, Virginia Tech collaborate to launch online certification course

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has launched an online certification course in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence of nine months duration in collaboration with Virginia Tech, United States of America. Candidates can apply for the course at erp.iitkgp.ac.in by paying an application fee of Rs 500.

The IIT Kharagpur Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence course will begin on May 30, 2022, and will conclude by January 07, 2023. The programme has been designed by the institute for students and industry executives. Out of the applicants, only 100 will be selected based on their academic performances in the past and working experience.

The programme aims to develop analytical skills in the learners as per the present market requirement that demands an understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications in data analytics. "This collaboration is a step towards addressing the challenges of intelligent computation and interpretation of data produced at the rate of 2.5 quintillion bytes every day," said a statement from IIT Kharagpur.

“This collaboration in business analytics and AI will encourage future leaders of transformative technology and engage them to think entrepreneurially. Structured as well as unstructured data i.e, the Big Data is growing significantly faster in rows and columns. In the long term, the explainable artificial intelligence and automation will help in solving long-pending legal cases," said VK Tewari, director of IIT Kharagpur.
