IIT Madras Pravartak partners with French University to launch Aviation Safety programme; apply by December 15

NEW DELHI: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has partnered with French university, L’Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), to offer ‘Aviation Safety Management’ programme on Indian civil aviation industry. The programme is supported by Airbus to improve safety education in the region and is designed to support the rapid development of aviation safety in India.

The first batch of the programme offers a maximum of 30 seats and the classes with begin in January 2025. The last date to apply for the programme is December 15, 2024.

The programme aims to target working professionals in the air transport industry. The programme is designed to train safety managers and experts to lead, assess, improve, and promote safety performance in various organizations in the air transport system.

About the 'Aviation Safety Management’ programme

The two-year programme with one week per two months in-person program during the first year and one week per month during the second year in-person programme. The faculty will be travelling from France to conduct the classes throughout the programme.

The programme includes a six-month project or dissertation. Moreover, working professionals in the aviation industry, and senior and mid-level managers in state authorities run aviation operators, the IIT Madras statement added.

Welcoming this collaboration between IITM and ENAC in a critical sector, professor V Kamakoti the director at IIT Madras, said: “We are delighted to work with ENAC - a 70+ years organization focused on airline safety management and its related process. IIT Madras and ENAC have the same agenda of imparting education and skill and to help the community in general and the country as a whole.”
