NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Madras (IIT Madras) and University of Birmingham opened the application window for joint masters programmes in data science and artificial intelligence. Interested applicants can apply online at ge.iitm.ac.in/birmingham. The last date to apply is June 11.

The course requirement for joint masters in data science and artificial intelligence will involve students studying in Birmingham and Chennai. The course work will begin in July 2023 and offer students the flexibility to spend five months in the UK after which they can return to IIT Madras and complete the rest of the programme and research project. Students can also choose to study for twelve months in the UK and can conclude the course in Birmingham.

Apart from this, enrolled students will also have to carry out a research project based on real-world challenges.

The evaluation process for joint masters will be based on “mutual recognition of academic credits issued by each university” which will then be aggregated to provide a single degree certificate.

Students must note that the fee structure of the UK study element in the joint MA programme will be based on domestic fee levels and not international level.
