IIT Patna BTech Placements 2022: 74% increase in PPOs; highest salary at Rs 82.05 lakh

IIT Patna Placements 2022: The average salary offered is Rs 28.50 lakh. So far, 61 students have received PPOs from 22 companies for different job profiles.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) has started the campus placements for BTech for the session 2022-23. The IIT Patna placements for the 2022-23 session saw a significant increase of 74% in terms of number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) as compared to 2021-2022 batch and about 16.70% growth in terms of average pay packages.
The maximum salary package of IIT Patna so far for this season has been Rs 82.05 lakh. Subsequently, various multinational companies (MNCs) have offered salary packages of Rs 61.05 lakh and Rs 57.75 lakh respectively to BTech students for the roles of software development engineer. The average salary offered this year was Rs 28.50 lakh, while last year it was about Rs 24 lakh.
The pre-placement offers to the BTech students is offered based on the summer internships after the end of sixth semester, which is of 2-3 months duration.
IIT Patna Placements 2022: Top recruiters
So far, 61 students have received PPOs from 22 companies for different job profiles. Among the top recruiters, Google has offered 9 jobs for SWE interns, Samsung made 10 offers and Service Now hired 6. Twilio and Adobe are also on the list, along with four PPOs for software interns. Amazon has also given four pre-placement offers to the B Tech 2023 batch students of IIT Patna.
Atlassian, Uber, Flipkart, Indeed, SMS Datatech, Arista Networks, American Express, Publicis Sapient, Perceptive Analytics, Accenture India, Bloomberg and DirectI are among the companies that offered pre-placement offers to students.

As the internship-based hiring model is growing, the institute is shifting particularly towards promoting summer internships to enable students to receive PPOs, it said in a statement.
During the summer internships, the companies test various aspects of the students, including their analytical approach, mindset to work on the project assigned, documentation and presentation skills etc.
In the last placement session, 154 top companies from across the country and abroad had provided 412 job offers in IIT Patna.
