Independence Day 2021: Doctors are celebrating 75th Independence Day by speaking on the violence against doctors, tagging PM Modi and others.

NEW DELHI: This Independence Day, doctors are celebrating and wishing everyone in a different manner by campaigning against the on-going violence imparted against doctors during the pandemic situation. Independence Day 2021 is just round the corner, and several nurses, doctors’ association and doctors of various states have filled social media with posts using #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors hashtag.
Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) India started the campaign using #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors hashtag while wishing everyone 75th Independence Day and asking for freedom from violence against doctors across the nation. Several other Twitter users came forward and ignited the campaign.
“#FORDA wishes all our countrymen a very Happy 75th #IndependenceDay. May all the dreams we have for this Great Nation, come true! Let’s pledge for a Nation free from all forms of Violence against Doctors #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors , PMOIndia, MoHFW_INDIA, DghsIndia, ANI, PTI_News,” Forda India said on Twitter.

Junior and senior resident doctors’ association of Madhya Pradesh tweeted: “Let's join our hands and support the initiative of FordaIndia to demand freedom from violence on doctors. #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors FAIMA_INDIA_ ANI MoHFW_INDIA IMAIndiaOrg.”

A Twitter user Rights of Medicos said: “A single case of violence brings down the morale of hundreds of doctors. It's a matter of shame that 75 percent of doctors in India have to face at least violence of some form. People really need to learn to show some gratitude towards their saviors. #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors.”

“We request all the medico as well as non medico people to come forward and make this campaign successful as we are planning to reinitiate the #CENTRALPROTECTIONACT to protect our #doctors from #Violence with all Central & state RDAs. #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors” said The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) of Uttar Pradesh.

A doctor also added: “We are all soldiers without Vest and dedicated our life to save our patients but in return instead of getting a salute what we get is mob lynching and insults.... #stopviolenceAgainstDoctors JAI HIND."
