NEW DELHI: On the 76th Independence Day, various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) celebrated 75 years of freedom by hoisting the national flag and organizing webinars, talks, cultural programmes, and competitions for students. Take a look at some of the celebrations carried out by IITs today, August 15.

IIT Delhi director, Professor Rangan Banerjee hoisted the national flag at the institute premises on the occasion of 76th Independence Day.

IIT Roorkee celebrated Independence Day 2022 by organizing various events. “Happy Independence Day 2022! Glimpses of Independence Day Ceremony at iitroorkee,” the institute tweeted.

IIT Bombay tweeted, “As part of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav (75 years of India's Independence), IIT Bombay is showcasing films on National War Memorial and "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day" (August 14) at the Main Building during Aug 13-15, 2022.”

IIT Hyderabad organised an idea representation competition to celebrate the Independence Day 2022. “IITHyderabad has always been Inventing & Innovating in Technology for Humanity (IITH), hence here is a chance for you to think as a Social Entrepreneur develop a fantastic idea & present it in front of an expert panel Date: Aug 15, 2022 Time: 2:30 PM Venue: Auditorium, Block A,” the institute said in a tweet.

IIT Guwahati organised various cultural events and competitions to celebrate 75 years of Independence today. Professor T G Sitharam, director of the institute hoisted the national flag. The Kendriya Vidyalaya school at IIT Guwahati also held an exhibition. Moreover, Students’ Gymkhana Council of the institute organized a cross-country race for students in partnership with a gym.
