Indian Institute of Technology Madras to host four-day Inter-IIT Tech Meet 2023 from tomorrow

A total of 1,000 students from various IITs will present their projects in 13 competitions of Inter-IIT Tech Meet 2023.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) will host the 12th edition of the annual Inter-IIT Tech Meet from December 19 to 22. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, Inter-IIT Tech Meet is being held offline for the first time.

The institute said around 1,000 students from all the IITs are expected to participate in 13 competitions such as product management, quantum computing, game development, mathematics and cybersecurity. Events related to ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ initiative will also be held at Inter-IIT Tech Meet 2023. Students will get the opportunity to present their solutions to experts in the field, and forge new relations with peers and industry professionals during the four-day event.

The papers and projects showcased at the Students’ Academic Conference and the Engineers Conclave will be open to viewing for the public. This edition will also be the first one with a ‘no-prep event’ – an event requiring participants to come up with solutions on the spot - since the lockdown.

INTER-IIT Tech Meet schedule

December 19: Three panels of the Students’ Academic Conference, with focus on mechanical engineering, manufacturing, civil engineering, nano-tech, bio-tech and robotics. Competitive student presentations on Quantum computing.

December 20: Two panels of the Students’ Academic Conference, with a focus on artificial intelligence, data science, electronics, physics and maths. Competitive student presentations on chiplet design and game development.

December 21: The engineers’ conclave, showcasing 50 projects and prototypes built across the IITs. Competitive student presentations on quantitative finance, and cryptocurrency trading. Session by the company Aptos, about the domain of blockchain.

December 22: Competitive student presentations on artificial intelligence and natural language processing, followed by the announcement of the winners of the Tech Meet.

Satyanaranya Gummadi, dean (students), IIT Madras, said, “We are happy to host the Inter-IIT Tech Meet at IIT Madras and I am sure this four-day event will create an opportunity for the students to learn different things for their career goals. This is also an opportunity for the like-minded students from different IITs who can also interact and create networking activity among the brightest minds.”
