QS has added two new subjects this year, classics & ancient history, and library & information management and now cover 48 disciplines. US universities have dominated the major subject groups followed by the British universities.

The subject rankings are done on four basic parameters. The first two parameters, academic reputation and employer reputation, are used to measure subject-wise international reputation of the institution. The third and the fourth parameters, Research citations per paper and H-index, measure the research impact in the subject.
