New Delhi- IPMAT 2020 was successfully conducted by IIM Indore on September 7 and candidates found the question paper as moderately difficult. The quantitative ability section in IPMAT 2020 was time-consuming while verbal ability was easy. IPMAT 2020 was conducted in computer-based mode. IPMAT 2020 was conducted in 34 cities across India. IIM Indore had taken all possible measures to ensure the safety of the candidates as well as staff. The standard operating procedures were in place for IPMAT 2020. As per the feedback of the candidates, they did not face any issue in the exam.

Due to COVID 19 pandemic situation, IIM Indore had inculcated certain changes in the IPMAT 2020 exam pattern. The question paper of IPMAT 2020 was divided into two sections i.e. Q.A. and V.A.
Quantitative Ability section had 20 MCQs and 10 short answer questions. Solving MCQs was time taking. Short answer questions were both easy and time consuming with no negative marking.
Verbal Ability section had 30 MCQs. Wide range of topics were covered in this section making it moderately difficult.
The time limit was reduced to 90 minutes.
Thermal Scanning
IIM Indore had laid down thermal testing mandatory for all candidates in IPMAT 2020. The temperature of candidates was recorded and only after that entry was allowed. Moreover, the admit card of IPMAT 2020 was scanned at the entry gate through a barcode reader, and information related to hall number was communicated.
Sanitization at the IPMAT 2020 Test Centre
In view of the ongoing situation, IIM Indore had a proper sanitization facility at the test centres. The seats were sanitized properly along with the webcam, keyboard and monitor and related items. Candidates wearing masks were only allowed to enter inside the exam hall.
IIM Indore had also announced changes in the selection procedure of IPMAT 2020. Earlier on the basis of IPMAT 2020 scores candidates were to be shortlisted for GD-PI rounds. But keeping in new the COVID 19 guidelines, IIM Indore will now shortlist candidates for Video Based Assessment. In this round candidates will be given a set of questions, the answers of which are to be recorded and uploaded within the stipulated time.
