NEW DELHI: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will be conducting Indian School Certificate (ISC) English literature semester 2 exam tomorrow, May 2, 2022. The CISCE Board held the ISC English language paper on April 26.

The CISCE Board had released the ISC reduced syllabus and specimen question paper on the official website, cisce.org. Students are also advised to go through the important exam day instructions and adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the board before appearing for the exam.
As per the reduced syllabus announced by the CISCE Board, English literature paper 2 of ISC syllabus will have the following topics.
Drama: The Tempest: William Shakespeare (Act III, Act IV and Act V only)
Echoes: A Collection of ISC Short Stories (Evergreen Publications (India) Ltd, New Delhi).
1. To Build a Fire – Jack London
2. The Story of an Hour – Kate Chopin
3. The Singing Lesson – Katherine Mansfield
4. The Sound Machine – Roald Dahl 5. B. Wordsworth – V.S. Naipaul
Reverie: A Collection of ISC Poems (Evergreen Publications (India) Ltd, New Delhi)
1. The Darkling Thrush- Thomas Hardy
2. Birches– Robert Frost
3. Crossing the Bar – Alfred, Lord Tennyson
4. Dover Beach – Matthew Arnold
5. We are the Music Makers – Arthur William Edgar O’Shaughnessy
In addition to the ISC Class 12 syllabus, students will also be assessed based on project work. Project Work consists of assessment of writing skills. The objective is to produce original, creative and insightful perspectives on the drama/short stories/poems, the board said.
