Jamia School, IIT Madras collaborate to launch online certificate courses for Classes 9 to 12

The online certificate courses will help Class 9 and 10 students identify their interests before choosing Science, Commerce or Humanities in Class 11.
The Jamia Senior Secondary School has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) to provide online certificate courses to students from Classes 9 to 12. The partnership will offer eight-week online certificate programmes in Mathematics, science, engineering, computing, humanities and management.
The online certificate courses will help Class 9 and 10 students identify their interests before choosing Science, Commerce or Humanities in Class 11, according to an official statement.
Students in Classes 11 and 12 can explore different fields before deciding on undergraduate courses and career directions. IIT Madras’s CODE will award e-certificates to students who will complete the online certificate courses, including assignments and examinations.
Online certificate courses in AI, cybersecurity
The collaboration will provide students of Classes 9 to 12 an access to online learning designed to help them explore academic interest and future career paths, the statement read.
“The school gratefully acknowledges the institutional leadership of Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, Jamia Millia Islamia, in supporting an academic environment in which initiatives of this kind can develop,” it added.
The online programme expands its diverse offerings to data science and Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, economics and finance, law, digital humanities, ecology and forensic sciences.
Students can also explore areas such as electronic systems, architecture and design, product design, biological systems, chemical engineering, aerospace, and game technology, alongside mathematics and computing courses
At the school level, the initiative was taken forward under the leadership and encouragement of Mohd. Arshad Khan, principal, Jamia Senior Secondary School, whose support was instrumental in facilitating participation.
Ms. Wasiya Siddiqui, PGT Computer Science, made a valuable contribution through her dedicated efforts and sustained coordination. She has been nominated as the school’s Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for programme-related communication.
