JEE Advanced 2020: Over 1.6 lakh students registered for the exam
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has released the registration statistics for JEE Advanced 2020. According to the authorities, 160864 students have registered for the entrance examination which is scheduled to be held on September 27, 2020. The number of applicants have lowered a bit down as the previous year when 1,61,319 students had applied for JEE Advanced.

Registration for JEE Advanced 2020 was opened on September 12 and the final date to apply was September 17. However, fee payment was accepted till September 18, 2020. A total of top 2,50,000 JEE Main qualified candidates are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. Since the examination is being held during the pandemic, JEE Advanced 2020 will be conducted only in India and foreign centres have been cancelled.
Increase of exam centres
To keep up with the various social distancing norms related to COVID-19, IIT Delhi has decided to increase the number of exam centres for JEE Advanced 2020. The total number of exam cities has been increased from 164 to 222. One city may have more than once centres for students. This year, there will be a total of around 600 centres. Provision to change the selected exam centres was also given to the registered candidates till September 17, 2020.
JEE Advanced 2020 admit card will be released on September 21. The examination will be held only to provide admissions into the B.Tech courses offered by IITs.
