NEW DELHI: The day 3 of JEE Main 2020 exam has commenced today. On day 3 of JEE Main 2020, paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech is being held across 660 exam centres located in 224 exam cities across the country. The first shift of JEE Main 2020 today paper has started at 9 and will conclude at 12 noon while the second shift will start at 3 pm and will conclude at 6 pm.

JEE Main 2020 April/September exam is being conducted amid the covid-19 pandemic. NTA has adopted standard operating procedure and various precautionary measures including government issued covid guidelines to hold the JEE Main exams. Rules of social distancing are strictly followed, candidates are not allowed to enter the exam hall without a mask, exam centre and its seating area is regularly sanitised and disinfected after each paper shift. JEE Main self undertaking has to be brought by every candidate along with other required items to take the test
Many students have also reportedly not been able to appear in the JEE Main 2020 exam due to flood and alike unavoidable circumstances. For all such candidates, NTA has issued a notice to apply through proper channels for consideration of their reason behind inability to appear in the exam.
Beside some candidates citing for standard operating procedure, social distancing rules not being followed, the exam has been going on smoothly. Only the case of some students not able to appear for the exam due to flood has affected the exam for which proper measures will be taken in due course of time.
Initially, there were also issues regarding unavailability of transportation services in several states due to lockdown. However, many state governments arranged for additional transportation to help candidates reach the exam centre. Self help group and IITs alumni association also came forward for this and launched eduride portal to provide rides for students to reach their exam centres.
Students who had appeared for exam on day 1 and 2 shared their inputs about the exam. As per the initial reactions, the exam is inline with the standard difficulty level as has been in previous years. However in JEE Main paper 2 held on September 1, most students found Mathematics to be difficult in comparison to previous years.
