NEW DELHI: The announcement of changed JEE Main 2021 exam pattern and increase in the number of attempts have come as a relief to the engineering aspirants. Therefore, the National Testing Agency (NTA) introduced major changes in the JEE Main 2021 exam for better performance of the students. However, to crack JEE Main 2021 exam, it is important for the applicants to follow the right preparation strategy.

Tips to prepare for the JEE Main 2021

  • Understand the revised JEE Main exam pattern 2021

Since the NTA has introduced many changes, candidates should understand the JEE Main 2021 exam pattern completely. Though the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and many other examination boards have decided to reduce curriculum as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the NTA has not changed the JEE Main syllabus. However, the authorities will provide the JEE Main 2021 students with the choices among questions. A total of 90 questions will be asked, out of which candidates have to answer 75 questions. The questions in the NTA JEE Main 2021 exam will be framed in such a way that students who study from the reduced syllabus will not face any problem.

  • Prepare short notes

It is not easy to revise every topic in detail again and again. Therefore, to keep the topics fresh in mind, candidates should prepare short notes having the important concepts and formulas. Note that revision is the key to success. If the concepts and formulas are clear, students can attempt questions quickly. No matter how good the command is on a particular topic, leaving it untouched can make you lose that command.

  • Attempt JEE Main mock tests

Candidates preparing for the JEE Main 2021 exam should attempt the mock tests to understand the pattern of the question paper in a better way. The NTA will release the official JEE Main 2021 mock tests on its website. The mock tests will be designed in the same pattern in which the entrance test will be conducted. Therefore, with the help of the mock tests, candidates will have an insight into the level and type of questions to be asked in the JEE Main exam 2021.

  • Self-analysis is important

Attempting JEE Main mock tests or previous year’s question papers is not enough, self analysis is necessary. It is important to understand the strong and weak points. Analysing the test will help candidates to understand the areas where they are losing marks.

  • Don’t stress yourself

Although NTA JEE Main is one of the most important engineering entrance exams, stressing over it is not a solution. Candidates are advised to focus on preparing for the exam in a possible way. Stressing upon it will not help in any way, instead, it can affect your health. Also, NTA has increased the total number of attempts. This will help the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in the first attempt without wasting their whole academic year.
