Aspirants must note that the NTA has not yet released any notification regarding the JEE Main 2023 or the number of attempts. However, based on reports, the NTA JEE Main 2023 exam will be held twice. Moreover, the first attempt of JEE Main 2023 exam will be conducted in January, while the second attempt in April.

In the year 2021, the NTA decided to conduct the JEE Main exam four times and notified that decision to increase the number of attempts was taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation that impacted the education sector largely. Later, in 2022, the NTA again reduced the JEE Main number of attempts to 2, however, due to the pandemic, the exams were held in June and July, instead of January and April.

The JEE Main exam is conducted every year as a gateway to get admission into BTech/BE courses offered by National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute Of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
