JEE Main 2023 Session 1: What is JEE dress code, things to carry to exam centre

It is compulsory for candidates to carry the JEE Main 2023 admit card along with the self-declaration form on the day of the exam. Candidates without the admit card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) for admission to BE, BTech, BArch and BPlanning programmes will be held from January 24 to February 1, 2023. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the JEE Main 2023 session 1 at 290 cities in India and 18 cities outside. For the BE and BTech JEE Main exams, NTA will conduct the exams on January 24, 25, 29, 30, 31 and February 1, 2023, while for BArch and BPlanning, the exams will be held on the second shift of January 28. The applicants taking the JEE Mains 2023 exam starting January 24 must download and print all pages that come with their JEE Main 2023 admit card and carry to the exam centre. The document required for JEE Main exam hall are listed below:

  • All pages of the JEE Mains 2023 admit card clearly printed on A4 size sheets
  • The self-declaration form / undertaking / proforma for printed on A4 size sheet, duly filled
  • Valid photo ID proof
  • A simple transparent Ball Point Pen
  • Copy of same photograph that was used in application form to paste on attendance sheet
  • PwD certificate where applicable
  • Documents related to scribes where applicable

These are the other items allowed in JEE Main 2023 exam hall:

  • Water in transparent bottle
  • Mask and gloves
  • Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml)
  • Sugar tablets, fruits (like banana, apple, orange) in case the candidate is diabetic.

JEE Main 2023 dress code

  • Candidates will not be allowed to carry any metallic objects while appearing JEE Main 2023 exam. They should avoid wearing any kind of jewellery, ornaments. They are also not allowed to wear any electronic watches.
  • Applicants who wear Kara or Kirpan due to religious reasons have to report to the exam centre an hour before the gate closing time and intimate the officials
  • Candidates must not cover their heads with cap, dupatta, etc unless it is a customary dress for which they have prior permission
