NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) session 1 exam is set to be held from tomorrow, January 24. Lakhs of candidates will appear for the engineering entrance test tomorrow at 290 cities across the country and 18 outside. The JEE Main 2023 admit card also contains instructions for candidates and a self-declaration form to make sure the candidates and the officials on exam duty are safe. The JEE Main 2023 will be held for BE, BTech, BArch and BPlanning papers. The JEE exam will be held for multiple choice questions (MCQs) and numerical questions. The BE, BTech paper, or paper 1, of JEE Mains 2023 will have three sections -- Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and will comprise of 90 questions.

The BArch paper, or Paper 2A, of JEE Main exam will have three sections -- Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing with a total of 82 questions. The BPlanning paper (Paper 2B) will comprise of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning-based questions and will have 105 questions.

Candidates must follow all the instructions as given on the JEE Main 2023 hall ticket. Here is a five-point checklist for the JEE Main 2023 exam day.

1. The JEE Main 2023 reporting time is two hours before the start of the exam. The JEE Main exam will be held in two shifts. The JEE Main 2023 start time is 9 am and 3 pm.

2. Candidates will be required to take the JEE Main 2023 admit card and must carry any one of the original and valid photo identification proof issued by the government -- school identity card, PAN card, driving license, voter id, passport, aadhaar card with photograph, e-aadhaar with photograph, ration card with photograph, Class 12 board exam admit card with photograph or bank passbook with photograph. The JEE Main 2023 admit card is available at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

3. The JEE Main 2023 hall ticket has details of guidelines including filling up of a self-declaration (undertaking) form to ensure that all the candidates, invigilators and staff members on the exam centres are safe. Details including candidates’ names, JEE Main 2023 application form numbers, test centres and dates of exam will have to be filled in the JEE Main 2023 self-declaration form. The candidate will also have to mention any symptoms of cold, cough, runny nose or fever.

4. There is no specific JEE Main 2023 dress code. However, shoes and footwear with thick soles, and garments with large buttons are not permitted. Applicants should avoid wearing any kind of jewellery, ornaments. They are also not allowed to wear any electronic watches.

5. Candidates must not forget to hand over the JEE Main 2023 admit card, self-declaration form and the rough pages to the invigilator at the end of the exam.
