NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday conducted the first shift of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 session 2 exam. Students said that the JEE Main 2024 April 4 exam's difficulty-level was similar to that of session 1 question papers. The maths section was tougher than the chemistry and physics sections, they felt.

JEE Main shift 1 is being held from 9 am to 12 noon. The question paper had a total of 300 questions – 100 each on physics, chemistry and mathematics. Each subject had two sections. Section A consisted of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B had numerical questions. In Section B, candidates were asked to attempt any five of 10 questions.
Students found physics questions harder than chemistry ones. Maths questions were calculative and lengthy. The subject-wise JEE Main 2024 difficulty-level is given below:

The JEE Main 2024 physics section had given more weightage to assertion and reason questions. More questions were from organic chemistry than inorganic. Here are the important topics asked in the BTech exam conducted today:
