NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) Joint Entrance Examination Main 2024 January 27 shift 1 begins at 9 am. Students will get three hours to attempt the JEE Main exam. Students with JEE Main admit card and valid ID proof have been allowed entry into the exam hall. IIT JEE Main exam is being held at various exam centres nationwide.

JEE Main paper will comprise of 90 questions. The questions will be based on three subjects - physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Each subject will have two sections. Out of the 10 questions in Section B, candidates will be given an option to answer only 5.
Aspirants appearing for the JEE Main had to report to the allotted exam centre an hour before the exam. Candidates who have followed the dress code will be permitted inside the hall. Before entering the exam hall, candidates will have to display the JEE Main admit card and go through the security check. The entry will be closed at 8.30 am.
Candidates can check the JEE Main dress code for girls and boys.
Avoid wearing any metallic items, ornaments or jewellery.
Avoid wearing a cap, muffler, stole, dupatta or scarf.
Wear light and comfortable clothes.
Do not wear goggles, rings, bracelets, or any such items.
The exam day guidelines are to be followed by candidates.
Candidates will have to report to the allotted exam centre an hour before the exam.
Carry the JEE Main hall ticket with a valid photo id.
After entering the exam hall, sit in the seat allotted immediately.
Candidates need to log in and go through the instructions.
Mark the attendance on the attendance sheet.
Candidates will be provided with a blank sheet for rough work.
Candidates can leave the exam hall after the completion of the exam.
Hand over the rough sheet before leaving the exam hall.
The system will automatically close the test after the completion of three hours.

IIT Kanpur has revoked the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the application fee of JEE Advanced 2018. Candidates, who aspire to apply for JEE Advanced must note that now they do not need to pay the GST on JEE Advanced application fee. The official announcement made by IIT Kanpur reads, “In view of the decisions taken during the 25th meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council held on January 18, 2018, the GST on registration fees for JEE (Advanced) 2018, as earlier notified, is withdrawn.”
