NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 exam for the January 27 shift 2. As per student reactions, the paper was balanced.

The exam lasted for three hours from 3 pm to 6 pm. The JEE Mains 2024 exam consisted of a total of 90 questions. The exam's total marks were 300, and its difficulty level was moderate as compared to previous years.

As per Ramesh Batlish, centre head, FIITJEE Noida Centres, students who participated in the JEE Main 2024 exam expressed that the overall difficulty level of the exam was easy. All three sections were easy and questions were asked from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.

JEE Main 2024 January 27 shift 2 paper analysis

According to FIITJEE Noida, the topics asked and difficulty level of subjects are as follows:

  • Mathematics: This section was easy. Weightage was given to chapters of Coordinate Geometry and Calculus. Questions were asked from Circle, Ellipse and Hyperbola, Functions, Limits and Continuity, Differentiability, Differential Equations, Definite Integral, Differential Equations, Permutation and Combination, Binomial Theorem, Progressions, Statistics, Matrices & Determinants, Probability & Vectors. The numerical based section had lengthy calculations but was easy.
  • Physics: The physics section was also easy. Questions were asked from almost all chapters. Some questions from chapters of Kinematics, Heat and Thermodynamics, Sound and waves, Rotational Motion, Optics, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Atoms and Nuclei. The numerical based questions were easy. This section was balanced and easy.
  • Chemistry: Easy. Organic chemistry had more questions as compared to inorganic and physical chemistry. Some questions from Colloids, GOC, Amines, Aldehydes and Ketones, Biomolecules, Phenol and Ethers, Aryl and Alkyl Halides mixed concept questions, Mole Concept, Electrochemistry, d-block elements. Mostly NCERT fact-based questions were asked which made the paper easy for students.

Last year, the JEE Main session 1 difficulty level was moderate to difficult, according to the reactions of candidates and expert analysis.
