NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2024) in two sessions – session 1 will be held from January 24 to February 1, 2024, and session 2 will be conducted from April 1 to 15, 2024.

JEE Main 2024 is done for admission to undergraduate (UG) engineering programmes for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other centrally funded technology institutes (CFTIs).
The JEE Main 2024 counselling process will be done through the central seat allocation board (CSAB). Students should have secured at least 75% marks in the Class 12 or should be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 exam conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks will be 65% in the Class 12 board exams.
The top engineering institutes in the countries are either IITs or NITs. There 17 IITs and 10 NITs in top 50 engineering colleges of the country as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2023.
