NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reduced the exam cities for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025. As per the information bulletin, the total number of exam cities has dropped from 300 last year to 284 this year. The testing agency has also reduced the international exam cities, dropping from 24 foreign cities to just 14 for this year's examination. JEE Main 2025 Live

As per the official notification, the NTA has made several adjustments to the list of exam cities for the JEE Main 2025. Notably, Lakhimpur in Assam, which was included in previous years, are missing from this year’s list of designated cities. In Odisha, the total number of exam cities has seen a reduction, dropping from 23 cities last year to 17 for this year’s examination.
Tamil Nadu has experienced a decrease, with three cities including Coonoor, Nagapattinam, and Tiruppur being removed from its list and two cities including Nagercoil, and Tiruvallur being added. Andhra Pradesh has undergone a more substantial reduction, with 12 exam cities being dropped.
While some states have seen reductions, Telangana has experienced an increase in exam cities, with two additional cities being added to accommodate the candidate population. In Maharashtra, two cities are missing and four cities are added compared to the previous year.

The NTA has also decreased the number of international exam cities from 24 to 14 for JEE Main 2025. JEE Main exam cities that have been added this year include Bahrain, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Germany, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UAE - Abu Dhabi, UAE - Sharjah, and Washington DC.
Conversely, several locations have been removed this year including Sri Lanka, Qatar, UAE (Dubai), Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The registration process for JEE Main 2025 is underway and the last date to apply for the exam is November 22. Eligible candidates can fill out the JEE main 2025 application form through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
