JEE Main 2025 Registration: NTA issues advisory for Aadhaar authentication, name mismatch issues

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory regarding Aadhaar authentication for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025. The NTA has received complaints from candidates facing technical issues during the JEE Main 2025 registration process due to Aadhaar card authentication. As per NTA, the problem is due to mismatch between the name on the Aadhaar card and the Class 10 certificate of JEE Main 2025 aspirants.

The JEE Main 2025 registration has commenced, and the link will remain active till November 22 up to 11:50 pm. Candidates can register for JEE Mains 2025 session 1 through the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Mains 2025 session 1 is scheduled from January 22 to 31, and session 2 exams will be held from April 1 to 8.

JEE Mains 2025 Registration: Resolving Aadhaar authentication issue

To resolve this, the NTA has made adjustments to the JEE Mains 2025 online application process. As per NTA guidelines, candidates encountering a pop-up message indicating a name mismatch during Aadhaar authentication are advised to close the pop-up box.

The message reads: "Name mismatch during Aadhaar Authentication. To update your Name in Aadhaar Card, please visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. To proceed with Aadhaar Authentication, please enter your name as given in Aadhaar."

After closing this pop-up, a new window will appear on the screen to proceed with Aadhaar authentication. Candidates are required to enter the name exactly as it appears on their Aadhaar card in the new window that appears. Both the name from the educational certificate and the Aadhaar card will be captured during this process, allowing candidates to continue with their JEE Mains 2025 application process.

JEE Mains 2025 Registration: Documents required

Candidates can check the list of documents required for JEE Mains registration below:

• Identity proof (Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, driver's license)
• Class 10 marksheet
• Class 12 marksheet, passing certificate
• Recent passport-sized photograph
• Scanned signature
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Valid email ID and mobile number
• Bank details for fee payment

JEE Main 2025 Registration: Password creation

The NTA has issued guidelines for candidates creating a password for the JEE (Main) 2025 application. The JEE Mains 2025 password are required to be between 8 to 13 characters and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one numeric value, and one special character (example- !@#$%^&*-.). Additionally, candidates are required to select a security question and its answer, which can be used to retrieve the password in the future.
