The National Testing Agency (NTA) has closed the JEE Mains 2026 correction facility and will conduct the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 will be conducted from January 21 to 30. The testing agency will upload the exam hall ticket on the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in a few days before the exam.

NTA will issue the JEE Main city intimation slip before the release of the admit card. Candidates can download their JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip online at jeemain.nta.nic.in. To download the city slip, candidates should use their valid application number and password.

JEE Mains 2026 session 1 will be conducted from January 21 to 30 for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), other colleges and universities.

How to download JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip?

Candidates can make corrections in their JEE Main 2026 application form by following the steps given below:

  • Go to the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the "JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip" link
  • Enter the valid login credentials, such as the application number and password.
  • Click on the JEE Main city intimation slip 2026 download link
  • Save it and know your exam city.

The marking scheme for JEE Mains 2026 paper 1 and paper 2 is similar. JEE Main total mark is 400 for Paper 2. The total marks in JEE Mains 2026 paper 1 is 300. Each incorrect answer will lead to a deduction of 1 mark, and for each correct response, candidates will get +4 marks.

  • +4 marks for each correct answer and -1 for each wrong answer.
  • Drawing Test: Two questions are evaluated out of 100 marks. There is no negative marking in the drawing test.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, under its SATHEE initiative, has launched a free 40-day online crash course for JEE Main 2026 preparation starting November 1.

The course offers live and recorded sessions by IITians, daily practice problems, chapter-wise tests, mock test series, AI-based performance tracking, and doubt-clearing support from 10 AM to 6 PM. JEE Mains 2026: Can I use calculator, student asks

NTA has reiterated that calculators in any form will not be allowed in the JEE Main exam. The clarification follows a typographical error in the information bulletin. Candidates will have to attempt numerical and calculation-based questions without using any manual or onscreen calculator.

NTA will conduct the JEE Main session 1 exam 2026 from January 21 to 30, whereas the session 1 exam will be held from April 2 and 9.

JEE Main 2026 exam pattern

As per the JEE Main 2026 exam pattern, the paper will comprise a total of 75 questions, carrying 300 marks. It will be divided into three sections: physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Each section will have two subsections — Section A and Section B. Section A will consist of 20 questions, while Section B will include 5 questions in each subject.
