The Supreme Court of India has given their verdict regarding the two Public Interest Litigations (PILs) today which were filed for JEE Main and NEET 2020. The order has been given to not postponed JEE Main and NEET any further. The SC hearing on JEE Main and NEET had two pleas of different views regarding the postponement. While one petition was demanding the further postponement of JEE Main and NEET exam, the other was requesting for no more delay in the entrance examination. Both parties were heard at the apex court and decision regarding JEE Main and NEET postponement was taken. Justice Arun Mishra headed the SC bench and Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava was representing the students and parents who had filed for the JEE Main and NEET postponement. JEE Main 2020 admit card to be released soon
NTA will be releasing the admit card of JEE Main 2020 soon. Since the entrance examination is not going to be postponed, the admit card is expected to be released anytime soon. While reports mentioned that the admit card would be available on August 15, the admit card release was delayed.

im an aspirant and im pretty much okay with this decision. worse would have been if we had to skip an entire year of our life due to corona. at least now we may move forward, get admission and start the classes at least.

JEE Main and NEET to be held in September
The Supreme Court has dismissed the plea for postponement of JEE Main and NEET. Stating that they cannot put the careers of the students in jeopardy, the court has said JEE Main and NEET will not be postponed.

Hearing for JEE Main and NEET begins
Justice Mishra observed during the hearing that everything cannot be shut down and students cannot waste an entire year. However Srivastava petitioned for postponement till the situation of the pandemic gets better. NTA representative, SG Tushar Mehta confirmed to the court that all of the safety precautions will be taken during the exam.

SC hearing on JEE Main and NEET to start soon
The Supreme Court hearing regarding JEE Main and NEET has been listed at number 14 (Court No.3). The hearing is expected to start after an hour or two. A Bench of Justices Arun Mishra, BR Gavai and Krishna Murari will be hearing the pleas today regarding the JEE Main and NEET examination.

Petitioners ask for increase in exam centres
Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava and Anubha Shrivastava Sahai have petitioned the Supreme Court to conduct JEE Main and NEET 2020 only after the COVID-19 pandemic ends. They have also appealed to the court to increase the number of exam centres for JEE Main and NEET so that atleast one centre is present in each district of the state.
The petitioners also urge the Court to increase the number of NEET and JEE examination centres across the country and provide at least one centre in one district of each state. #SupremeCourtOfIndia #StudentsInSCForJustice

PILs against JEE Main and NEET 2020 postponement
In response to the pleas against the conduction of JEE Main and NEET examination, Gujarat parents’ group filed a counter PIL on August 9, 2020. According to the PIL, the constant postponement has been increasing the stress levels of the students and making their future very uncertain which is traumatizing them. To strengthen the plea for non-postponement, another group of parents appealed to the SC to ensure that the examinations are held on their scheduled dates in September.

PILs for JEE Main and NEET 2020 postponement
On August 14, The India Wide Parents Association approached the Supreme Court asking for the postponement of JEE Main and NEET 2020 . Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, president of the association confirmed that a letter was sent to the Ministry of Education, NTA and Home Ministry along with responses received on behalf of 8400 students regarding JEE Main and NEET exams.
11 students from 11 different states had also earlier filed a PIL against the conduction of the examinations citing safety concerns due to COVID-19.
