With reference to the permission received from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, candidates who are appearing for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), being conducted in September 2020, are permitted to travel in Mumbai Suburban network of Central and Western Railways.

As per the reports, in the poll conducted on Jharkhand CM's official twitter account, all the students on Twitter and others have backed Hemant Soren on his stand to postpone NEET and IIT JEE exams in September 2020. Around 1.5 lakh votes by Twitteratis were in favor of rescheduling the JEE Mains and NEET entrance exams, as reported by The Telegraph .

As per the recent records till 6:00 PM of August 31, 2020, as many as 20,52,614 candidates have downloaded NEET UG and JEE Main admit cards.

A total of 7,77,465 JEE aspirants have downloaded admit cards to appear for engineering entrance exam from September 1 to 6, 2020. While, total of 12,75,149 NEET hall tickets have been downloaded to appear for September 13, medical entrance exam.

In a recent portal released by IIT Delhi alumni for helping JEE Main and NEET aspirants, it has been seen that most of the request for transit is from metro cities . The location has been tracked on the portal's map and it has been seen that by the evening of August 31, the map has hundreds of requests from candidates. The map also shows that the majority of the requests have been received from metropolitan cities such as Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The portal also displays that requests were from various countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Hong Kong and requests from the United States.

Through Twitter, several JEE Main 2020 candidates are complaining of unavailability of helpline numbers. Out of five numbers, three are switched off, while other two cannot be connected. With this students are questioning, is this how the government helping IIT JEE aspirants?

The students and alumni associations of IIT Delhi, Bombay, and Madras have jointly launched an online web portal EduRide to help JEE Main and NEET 2020 aspirants reach their exam centres. Candidates can register online or call at the listed number to request for the ride to their JEE or NEET exam centre. Any aspirants who want to volunteer and help NEET 2020 and JEE aspirants also can register themselves.

How to request for an Eduride?

• Candidates have to visit the website www.eduride.in and register yourselves as a "Student". Enter the details of your exam centre and raise a request for a ride.

• Alternately, JEE Main candidates can call 93113 23756 between 10 am to 5 pm, Monday, 31st August for requesting the ride.

NTA has not clearly specified the JEE Main 2020 dress code , but candidates should, in general, make sure to follow the following instructions before reaching at the examination centre.

• Any metal part in the dress will not be allowed at the JEE exam centre.
• Wearing any piece of jewelry, watch, or any other gadgets/ornaments will not be allowed.
• A face mask will be allowed. However a fresh face mask will be provided at the JEE Main 2020 examination centre.
• Full sleeves shirts will be highly advised to wear, in order to avoid any touching of the unwanted surface with their skin.
• Students will not be allowed to cover their head.
• Clothes with noticeably large buttons, brooches, etc. should be avoided.

As per the NTA guidelines, the following items will be strictly prohibited.

• Any metallic objects will be not allowed
• Any extra sheet will be not allowed to carry, as the rough sheet will be provided inside the JEE examination hall
• Any electronic devices or gadgets will not be allowed inside the examination centre.

Aspirants will be allowed to carry the below-mentioned items are allowed in JEE Main 2020

• Printout of JEE Main 2020 admit card, along with the undertaking form (filled and unsigned).

• A simple transparent bottle

• A transparent ballpoint pen.

• Photo ID proof, additional photograph.

• Hand sanitizer (50 ml).

• PwD certificate (if applicable).

• Drawing utensils -- geometry box, pencils, erasers, color pencils or crayons for BArch candidates
