JEE Main session 2 clashes with CBSE Class 12 board exams; major subjects unaffected

NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 2 exam dates coincide with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 board exams. However, major subjects, particularly those in the science stream, remain unaffected.

National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main 2025 session 2 exams on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9. Meanwhile, the ongoing CBSE Class 12 board exams are also scheduled to take place from February 15 to April 4 and CBSE board exam 2025 for Class 12 will take place on April 2, 3, 4. The overlap raises concerns among students appearing for both exams.

Despite the overlap, core science subjects like physics, chemistry, and mathematics—crucial for engineering aspirants—do not coincide with JEE Main session 2 exam dates. This ensures that candidates can attempt both without scheduling conflicts. As per the official CBSE board exam schedule, the last CBSE Class 12 science stream exam will be held on March 25 for the Biology subject.

“The date of conduct of entrance examinations meant for the students of Class 12 has been taken into consideration and efforts have been made to complete the examinations much before the entrance examinations,” CBSE said while releasing the board exam 2025 datesheets.

Home Science, Psychology exams on April 3 and 4

On April 2, CBSE Class 12 board exam 2025 will be conducted for language subjects including Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese, and Kannada. The exam will take place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

On April 3, the CBSE 12th board exam 2025 will be conducted for home science and on April 4 the CBSE Class 12 board exam will conclude with the psychology subject.

JEE Main session 2 exam 2025 will be held in two shifts on April 2, 3, 4, and 7. Shift 1 will take place from 9 am to 12 noon and shift 2 will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. On April 8, JEE Main 2025 session 2 exams will take place in a single shift from 3 pm to 6 pm and on April 9, JEE Mains paper 2 exams will be held from 9 am to 12 noon.
