CBSE Class 12 Physics exam 2025 ‘moderate’; mix of easy, challenging questions, students’ reaction

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Physics exam 2025 was moderate, with a mix of easy, conceptual, and tricky questions. Students had mixed reactions to the CBSE Class 12 Physics exam 2025. Himanshi, a student who appeared for the exam, found the paper moderate. She said Section C and Section D were easy, while Section B was tough. Himanshi is also preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Another student, Chandramoli, found the CBSE Class 12 Physics exam difficult. He said the five-mark questions were easy, while the three-mark questions were tricky. According to him, the lengthy questions were straightforward and direct, but the three-mark questions were more concept-based and challenging. Chandramoli is preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main entrance exam and expects to score around 65 marks in the CBSE Class 12 Physics paper.

Geeta, a Class 12 student at Vidyagyan School, Sitapur, shared her views on the CBSE Class 12 Physics paper 2025, stating, "In set 2, Section B was slightly lengthy, and Section C focused on concept-based questions, which I enjoyed. Overall, the paper was moderate, and I am expecting good marks."

CBSE Class 12 Physics Paper 2025: Section-wise analysis

Surender Puli, PGT Physics at Vidyagyan School, Sitapur, said the paper was overall lengthy, with Set 3 being particularly extensive. The multiple-choice questions (MCQs) were tricky and posed a significant challenge.

She further mentioned that Section E, which included five-mark questions, was relatively straightforward but time-consuming, similar to the three-mark questions in Section C. “In Section B, a few two-mark questions were moderately difficult and demanded a deeper level of conceptual understanding,” Surender Puli said.

According to Thilak M, physics educator (PGT) at JAIN International Residential School (JIRS), Bengaluru, the CBSE Class 12 Physics paper was moderate but had some challenging sections. Students with a strong understanding of concepts, practice in numerical problems, and experience with application-based questions would have performed well. However, those who relied on rote memorization or expected direct questions may have found certain sections difficult.
