According to the JoSAA cutoff data in the last season, eight NITs offer BTech artificial intelligence and data science courses, and getting into NIT Warangal’s course is the toughest.

As per the JoSAA closing ranks, NIT Warangal closed admission for its BTech CSE AI and DS course at the rank of 2952, whereas the closing rank for NIT Patna’s BTech-MTech CSE with specialisation in DS was the lowest at 17439, while the cutoff for BTech AI and DS course stood at 16537 only for the other-state, open, gender neutral-seats.
Only 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam on May 17 based on the best scores from the January and April session exams.

JEE Mains 2026: BTech AI and DS courses, cutoff ranks
Eight NITs , including NIT Karnataka Surathkal, MNIT Jaipur, NIT Delhi, and MANIT Bhopal, offer BTech programmes in AI and data science.

As per the last academic session's JoSAA closing rank, BTech CSE's cutoff was the highest at the rank of 2409. BTech Computer Science and Engineering is the most opted engineering course among the aspirants.
