NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board has announced the schedule of the Joint Entrance for Lateral Entry Test (JELET) 2024. Accordingly, the JELET 2024 registration will begin on February 8. Eligible candidates will be able to apply for the exam through the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. JELET 2024 will be held on June 26, 2024.

The application fee for JELET 2024 is Rs 500 for general male candidates, and Rs 400 for general female candidates and SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS male candidates. Female candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS categories will have to pay Rs 300 while the third gender candidates will be required to submit Rs 300.

The eligibility criteria for JELET 2024 are as follows:

  • Diploma holders seeking admission in engineering and technology degree courses must have passed minimum three or two years (lateral entry) diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any branch of engineering and technology or BSc degree from a recognized university as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and Class 12 exam with mathematics as a subject or passed BVoc or 3-year DVoc stream in the same or allied sector.
  • For admission in Jadavpur University, the candidate must secure at least 60% (45% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA in diploma examination. DVoc candidates are not eligible for admission in Jadavpur University through lateral entry.
  • BSc, BVoc candidates seeking admission into engineering and technology degree courses must pass BSc or BVoc degree from any university recognized by UGC with at least 45% (40% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) marks. Also, the BSc candidate must have passed Class 12 with mathematics as a subject. The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of engineering mechanics and engineering graphics or engineering drawing of the first-year degree course in engineering or technology along with their second-year subjects.
  • Diploma holders in pharmacy seeking admission into degree course in pharmacy must pass diploma in pharmacy with at least 45% (40% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

WBJEEB will conduct the OMR-based JELET 2024 for admission into the second year (3rd semester) of undergraduate courses in engineering or technology and pharmacy of different universities, government colleges as well as self financing engineering and technological institutes in the academic session 2024-25.
