NEW DELHI: With the launch of university prospectus 2025, the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has opened admissions for its undergraduate programmes through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2025 for the academic session 2025-26. Not only the central university has introduced 14 new courses in the new session but also decided to admit students to 25 programmes through CUET instead of 20.
JMI admissions 2025 will be conducted for nine UG, five postgraduate (PG), eight diploma, and three advanced diploma programmes through CUET UG exam from this year.
To increase student diversity, the university will be conducting entrance tests for 29 programmes in eight cities across the country, including Malegaon and Bhopal. This will reduce travelling by candidates to Delhi, Jamia said.
Aimed at enhancing the academic excellence and upskilling students, the 14 new courses at JMI are as follows:
Among the other major highlights of JMI prospectus 2025 are the changes introduced for the international students. The university has reduced the fee for applicants from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries which include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka as well as for foreign students applying for diploma courses under polytechnic.
Moreover, two seats have been reserved for foreign nationals or Non-Resident Indian (NRI) students in the BDS programme, the admissions to which are conducted via the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET).
In a relief to international PhD aspirants, Jamia has decided to conduct online interviews for the foreign nationals. The move has been taken as the students used to find it difficult to procure visas and travel to India to appear for the offline PhD admission process.
