JMI cuts assistant professor, guest faculty vacancies, updates eligibility criteria

JMI Recruitment 2025: Jamia Millia Islamia will accept applications for the contractual assistant professor and guest faculty positions till July 14.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has reduced and revised the number of posts, specialisations required, and eligibility criteria for contractual assistant professor and guest faculty positions across various departments. The clarification comes within a week after notifying about the recruitment process.
Jamia has announced recruitment for contractual and guest faculty posts across departments, including engineering and technology, humanities and languages, social sciences, management, science, fine arts.
Eligible candidates will be able to check and apply for various posts on the official website, jmi.ac.in.
JMI Recruitment 2025: Major changes
Jamia Millia Islamia has reduced the vacancies for some departments and split some between contractual assistant professors and guest faculty.
The composition of vacancies for the Department of Social Work has been changed. Of the four guest faculty vacancies, three have been allotted for MA Social Work and teaching Multidisciplinary Course (MDC) and Value added Course(VAC) to UG students, and one for additional guest for teaching financial management for MA Human Resource Management (HRM) students.

Salary for guest teachers
For the Department of Persian, the university announced two guest faculty posts. However, it has been reduced to only one for either Persian or Pashto.
JMI will accept applications for the posts till July 14. Those selected for contractual assistant professor positions will receive a monthly salary of Rs 89,435, which includes basic pay in academic pay level-10 and applicable DA. Guest teachers under the regular courses and self finance programmes will receive an honorarium of Rs 1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs 50,000 per month.
