NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University, or JNU, has launched a COVID-19 portal to provide authentic and verified information related to the infection.
The COVID-19 portal aims at providing updates on latest developments on COVID-19 pandemic that may help the researchers, students, faculty, staff and the JNU community in making best choices during the time of crisis.
Vice Chancellor, M. Jagadesh Kumar said in an official statement, “JNU has a large number of faculty members who are involved in information dissemination, data mining, vaccine and diagnosis research that have direct or indirect implications for effectively dealing with the disease and secondary issues arising from it.”
COVID-19 portal (http://jnu.ac.in/covid19) hosts information collected from authentic public domain, JNU’s official circulars, government guidelines and advisories on health, travel and COVID-19.
The portal has various sections explaining the coronavirus and the disease it causes COVID-19, the terms associated with it and the methods of prevention, diagnostics and treatment.
JNU has formed a COVID-19 task force, led by Pawan Dhar, dean of the School of Biotechnology to look into the possible ways the university can work with national agencies and make the best use of its resources for public welfare.
