In March, the department had released the tentative revised Karnataka 2nd PUC time table for the April- May exams 2022 due to clash with Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains 2022) exam dates . The board had asked students to file objections to the draft Karnataka 2nd PUC date sheet by March 5, 2022.

Initially, the Karnataka 2nd PUC exam was scheduled from April 16 to May 4, 2022. However, after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the JEE Main 2022 exam will commence from April 16, the board had revised the date sheet for the 2nd PUC exam.
Meanwhile, ruling out holding re-exams for those who skipped them on account of the hijab row, Nagesh had said there is no such system for absentees. He said exams are competitive in nature and there cannot be humanitarian consideration for absentees.

He said only those who have failed in the exam will have an opportunity to take up the supplementary exams. "There cannot be new precedent, from the time the board exams are being held, there is no such system to hold re-exam for absentees," he added.
Following the Karnataka High Court's interim order in February restraining all the students from wearing saffron shawls, scarves, hijab and any religious flag within the classroom, several Muslim girl students had boycotted classes and had skipped the practical exams.
