
NEW DELHI, MARCH 5: Vigilance Organisation of the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Government has registered a case against the Kashmir University Vice-Chancellor Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi over the alleged illegal appointment in the varsity.
The case has been registered against the VC and other officials of the Kashmir University for misuse of their position in appointing an ineligible candidate to the post of medical officer in an alleged illegal and fraudulent manner.
As per the State Vigilance Organisation, Prof Andrabi and other officers of the University in connivance with screening officer (Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital in Srinagar), who was nominated by the VC made the illegal appointment.
The appointment was done in response to an advertisement published by University in December 2014 and the selected candidate was found ineligible for the post as per the terms and conditions laid down in the advertisement.
