NEW DELHI: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) announced that the final seat allotment result of the second extended round of Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) counselling 2024 will not be declared today. KEA took the decision as 140 choice-2 candidates who paid fee were not included in the provisional seat allotment result announced on October 7.
“It has come to notice that due to technical reasons about 140 Choice-2 fee paid candidates of second round were not included in the Second Extended round Provisional seat allotment result which was published on 07-10-2024. Hence, the final result of second extended round will not be published today on 08-10-2024,” said KEA in an official notice.
The exam authority added that the date for publication of results will be announced shortly and the post seat allotment schedule will be uploaded on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in or kea.kar.nic.in.
Candidates who were allotted a seat in the provisional allotment were asked to raise objections, if any, before 11 am of October 8. As per the initial schedule, the final seat allotment result was scheduled for October 8 after 2 pm and students were asked to download the allotment order between October 9 and 14.
Meanwhile, some candidates expressed concern about their provisional allotment and demanded the cut-off for the second extended round. “Please release cut-off because I have waited for 2nd extended round expecting an upgrade of college.. the cut-off rank difference (round2 cutoff minus my rank) was 2.7k.. and yet my allotment is not upgraded. Many of my friends have the same issue even with a rank difference of 500,” said a candidate in a post on X.
Another aspirant said that their newly added option has not been considered for allotment and complained that there is no cut-off to verify. He asked KEA to check if there’s a glitch and fix it.
