Download NowThe Department of General Education Kerala Government has released the schedule for the first year higher secondary improvement/ supplementary examination of 2026 on the official HSE portal at hseportal.kerala.gov.in/hse. The exam will start from October 12, 2026.

As per the schedule, the last date to submit the application form for regular, lateral entry/re-admission/compartment/special category applicants is September 10, 2026, while for remittance of the fee at the treasury by the principals is September 11, 2026.
Applicants can submit the form with a fine of Rs 600/- upto September 15, 2026. The last date for remittance of the fee with the fine of Rs. 600/- at the treasury by the principals is September 16. The last date for online registration of candidates and uploading of data through the Department portal from the school is also September 16.

For regular, lateral entry and re-admission candidates, the examination fee is Rs 175 per paper, while the certificate fee is Rs 40. For compartment candidates, the fee for the supplementary examination and the second year higher secondary examination March 2027 is Rs 225 per paper. The fee for two certificates is Rs 80.

Exam timings
As per the notification, subjects without practicals for FN examination will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm, including 15 minute cool-off time. Subjects without practicals for AN examinations will be conducted from 2 pm to 4:45 pm, including 15 minute cool-off time. Subjects with practicals, except Biology and Music, will be conducted from 9:30 am to 11:45 pm for FN examination, including 15 minute cool-off time, and from 2 pm to 4:15 pm for AN examinations, including 15 minute cool-off time.
Biology will be held from 9:30 am to 11:55 am, including 25 minutes of cool-off time, comprising 15 minutes for Botany and Zoology and 10 minutes for Zoology. Music will be conducted from 2 pm to 3:45 pm, including 15 minute cool-off time.
