The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has opened registration for the October-November 2026 examination for vocational education courses. Candidates can register themselves on the official website of NIOS at nios.ac.in.

The registration facility is available for applicants who could not pass the April-May 2026 examination or those who want to improve their marks. The institute has also announced the schedule for payment of examination fees for eligible aspirants.
As per the notice, eligible candidates can register and pay the examination fee from August 20 to September 3, 2026, without a late fee. The fee is Rs 400 per subject/module, including the vocational practical and internal assessment, wherever applicable.
Learners submitting the fee from September 4 to September 8 will have to pay a late fee of Rs 50 per subject in addition to the examination fee.
A further window with a consolidated late fee has been provided from September 9 to September 13, 2026. During this period, applicants will have to pay a consolidated late fee of Rs 1,600 per learner in addition to the examination fee specified in the first fee schedule.
NIOS has clarified that the registration and examination fee payment process will be online. The notification states, "No offline forms or examination fee will be accepted."
The official notice reads, "All the Regional Directors are directed to intimate to the concerned AVIS to place this notification prominently on the Notice Board so that the concerned learners could submit their examination fee within the stipulated time. The Regional Directors are requested to upload this Notification on their Regional Centre's website as well and also issue a Press Release in the local dailies."
