NEW DELHI: Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College Kolkata has prohibited students from wearing torn jeans on campus. The admission notice for this academic year 2023-24 signed by the AJC Bose College principal read, “Torn Jeans are strictly prohibited. Formal dresses are allowed only – By order”.
“Students are not allowed to enter college premises wearing torn jeans or artificially torn jeans or pants. So, it is essential to follow this caution before selecting our college for admission. Indecent dresses are not allowed inside college premises,” the college warned students.
It also requested parents and guardians to follow the instruction before selecting the college for admission of their son or daughter. It further said that the students will be expelled from college without any refund if found breaking the order.
AJC Bose College also asked students to submit a ‘no torn jeans’ undertaking while taking admission.
“Having been admitted to Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College, I will never enter inside college premises wearing torn/artificially torn jeans or any kind of indecent dresses. I do hereby affirm that I shall wear normal civil dresses during my study period inside the entire college premises,” the affidavit read, as per media reports.
The college had issued a similar notice last year asking students and staff members not to wear indecent dresses like torn jeans or artificially torn jeans within the campus premises.
