Lucknow University to offer part-time MTech course for working professionals from 2022-23

Engineers, working professionals with a BTech or BE degree will be able to apply for the six-semester MTech programme. Classes will be held from 6am to 9pm.

NEW DELHI: The University of Lucknow is going to offer a part-time MTech programme for working professionals from the 2022-23 session, as per a media report shared by LU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology which will be offering the programme. The engineering faculty board gave a nod to the proposal in a recently held meeting after considering the success of the part-time PhD programme, the report said. The online applications will start soon after getting the approval of the academic council.

“FoET, University of Lucknow has started http://M.Tech part time course to facilitate higher education for working person,” tweeted Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Lucknow.

The part-time MTech programme will be taught for six semesters and the duration of the programme is five years. The course is meant for working professionals such as engineers and teachers who will be able to attend classes during late hours on weekends, the report said. The timings of the classes would be 6pm to 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Working professionals with a BTech or Bachelor of Engineering degree will be able to apply for the course.

The faculty of engineering and technology will begin the programme with subjects - power system in electrical engineering and industrial and production engineering in mechanical engineering domain. Each batch will have 20 seats, according to the report.

Candidates will have to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their organisations. The selection will be done on the basis of entrance exam and interview, the report further said. The fees of each semester of the part-time MTech programme will be Rs 40,000.

The programme will be beneficial to engineers and professionals who could not continue their higher studies after their graduation due to some reasons, the report added.
