NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra MBA Common Entrance Test (MAH MBA CET) result 2024 will be declared soon. The state CET cell will announce the MBA entrance exam result on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org.

The entrance exam was conducted on March 9, 10, and 11 for admission to MBA programmes offered at state management institutes. The duration of the exam was 150 minutes. MAH MBA CET 2024 question paper contained 200 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each.

The exam was held for a total of 200 marks. As per the MAH MBA CET 2024 marking scheme, candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking, thus, no marks will be deducted for attempting an answer incorrectly.

MAH MBA CET 2024: Percentile score calculation

Since the MBA exam was conducted in multiple shifts, a normalization method will be used to overcome the difference in the difficulty level of question papers given in different shifts. The raw marks of candidates will be converted into percentile scores which are based on the relative performance of the total candidates.

The percentile scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid bunching effect and reduce ties. A candidate’s percentile score will be calculated as follows:

100 X No of candidates appeared in the session with raw score ≤ candidate’s score/ Total no of candidates in the session

Neither the percentile of the total will be an aggregate or average of the percentile of an individual subject, nor the percentile score will be the same as the percentage of marks obtained.

MAH MBA CET 2024: Normalisation procedure

The steps for normalization and preparation of percentile score are as follows:

Step 1: Distribution of examinees in two days and in two shifts per day.

Candidates would be distributed into four sessions randomly so that each session has approximately equal number of candidates. The four sessions would be as follows:

  • Session 1: Day 1 batch 1-1,
  • Session 2: Day 1 batch 2,
  • Session 3: Day 2 batch 1
  • Session 4: Day 2 batch 2

In case there are more days or shifts, the candidates will be divided accordingly.

Step 2: Preparation of results for each session.

The MBA CET exam results for each session would be prepared in the form of raw scores.

Total Percentile (TP) = 100 X No of candidates appeared for the session with raw score equal to or less than T1 score/ Total no of candidates appeared

Step 3: Compilation of CET score

The percentile scores for the total raw score for all the four sessions would be merged and will be called the CET scores which will then be used for compilation of MBA CET result.
