Phase 1 commenced in February 2024
In February 2024, the state’s school education department started recruiting teachers for 21,678 vacant positions through Pavitra portal —a tech-based centralised platform for the process, where advertisements are declared on details of vacant posts and qualified candidates apply.
The state has directed its local self governance bodies and private institutions to update the list of vacancies on its PAVITRA portal according to the staffing pattern of academic year 2022-23. However, teachers' bodies have demanded that the appointments should be as per the staffing pattern determined in 2023-24.
Maharashtra teacher phase 2 advertisement will be conducted for the recruitment of teachers from among the candidates who passed the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test 2022. A review will first be taken of available vacant seats, apart from 10 per cent posts reserved from the first phase of the process.
