NEET PG 2025 Counselling: MD General Medicine has emerged as the clear first choice in the MCC NEET PG round 1 seat allotment, with six of the top 10 rank holders securing a seat at PGIMER- Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. The remaining candidates in the top 10 secured a seat at Government Medical College Kozhikode, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, and Madras Medical College.
A total of 26,889 candidates were allotted seats in the NEET PG 2025 round 1 allotment, compared to 24,671 in 2024, marking an increase in seat allocation this year.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the NEET PG counselling schedule again for round 1. Now, candidates allotted All India Quota (AIQ) seats in round 1 will have to complete the college reporting process by December 1.
The registration for MCC NEET PG round 2 counselling will begin on December 5, as per the revised dates. The second allotment results will be declared on December 12 on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
According to the NEET PG seat allotment results, six out of the top 10 candidates in 2025 chose PGIMER. The remaining candidates secured seats at Government Medical College Kozhikode, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, and Madras Medical College.
Among the top 10, six belonged to the general category and four candidates belonged to the OBC category.
All top 10 NEET PG rank holders 2025, except rank 4, opted for MD General Medicine. Rank 4 was allotted MD Radiodiagnosis at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College. This shows a clear shift in trends, as five top-ranked candidates chose MD General Medical and four selected MD Radiodiagnosis last year. Only one candidate opted for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Last year, only one EWS candidate was featured in the top 10, and the rest belonged to the general category. Notably, PGIMER was selected by only three candidates, while another three chose Vardhman Mahavir Medical College.
Rank 2 was allotted a seat at Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur, and rank 4 at BJ Medical College Ahmedabad, rank 7 at Madras Medical College, and rank 8 at Maulana Azad Medical College.
